The BAD+ Prizes

For its third edition, BAD+ Bordeaux Art and Design is partnering with two collaborators to establish two awards supporting the contemporary artistic scene.

The Château Kirwan Prize

For the first time, BAD+ is establishing an award in collaboration with a partner château. Château Kirwan is pioneering this new form of collaboration with the fair by committing to purchase a work from one of the exhibiting galleries. The artist will be announced during the gala dinner, taking place on Wednesday, May 29th at 8 p.m. at Hangar 14. This inaugural acquisition will join the château's collection, potentially supporting a new residency program in the years to come.

The BAD+ X EBABX Prize

The BAD+ X EBABX Prize (École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux) grants the laureate, a former graduate student in visual and plastic arts since 2018, a financial award of 5000 euros and the opportunity to curate an exhibition during the BAD fair and at one of the partnering châteaux or institutions.

From the beginning of the year until March 8th, artists applying for the BAD+ X EBABX Prize were able to submit their work by providing a selection portfolio. A jury, consisting of members from both the BAD+ and EBABX teams, along with Benoît Maire, an artist graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, and a member of the project's sponsoring company, convened in April and selected 4 artists or designers. The winner will be announced on Friday, May 31st at 6 p.m. and will receive a prize of 5000 euros.
