Trained as an art historian, Marie Maertens is an independent curator, art critic and journalist.
Most recently, she was in charge of the resident artists at the Fiminco Foundation, which led to the Odyssées Urbaines exhibition.
- In 2022, she organized the exhibition Power Flower, at 109, as part of the Nice Biennale, and In this world, I'm a stranger, at Hiflow, Geneva.
- In 2020, she conceived the exhibition American Women, the Infinite Journey at the Patinoire Royale in Brussels, about American women artists
- In 2018, she developed The Surface of the East Coast - initiated at the 109 in Nice, summer 2017 - then developed in five Manhattan galleries and a talk at the French Embassy in New York.
She regularly collaborates with the media Connaissance des arts or Projets Media, on critical texts or interviews with artists, gallerists and curators, as well as videos and podcasts with visual artists or art market players.
