PALMADOTZE

Founded in 1989 in Vilafranca del Penedès (Barcelona), PALMADOTZE is an art gallery focused on contemporary art. The gallery has drawn up a rigorous line of work since its beginnings. The gallery's program is based on the alternation of promotional exhibitions of young artists with the exhibition of works of national and international renowned exponents from the second avant-garde to the present days. The gallery program has been constructed to generate a dialogue between them. The gallery has combined an exhibition program with a number of events that go beyond the conventional exhibition format. Curators, poets and artists have collaborated with the gallery in presentations, exhibitions, conversations throughout these years.

At the beginning of 2013, PALMADOTZE moved to a new space -a family farmhouse of the fifteenth century- in Santa Margarida i els Monjos (Penedès region), 40 minutes far away from Barcelona In this new location, the gallery has three different spaces where the exhibitions are presented. At the same time, it has an outdoor space dedicated exclusively to showcase individual projects. The location outside the conventional circuit in a unique environment, surrounded by vineyards, offers us the opportunity to work on new artistic projects in which there is a connection between the processes of artistic creation "Art and Landscape". The gallery has carried out workshops with schools, guided tours as well as collaborations with private companies, institutions, museums, art galleries and foundations

Palmadotze has been recognized for its work of dissemination and promotion of contemporary art outside the conventional circuits with the GAC award.
